Guns, BBQ and more guns!! It was a great time got to shoot some skeet, beer cans, and a wonderful roasted pig.I laughed with OD while drinking some apple pie. It was good to see Tim and his family from the DS crew.

This weekend was a busy one. I also had to help my niece per her request to get ready for her daddy daughter dance. I had to help do hair and makeup. Kids grow up so fast. I remember when she was so tiny she could sleep on my chest.

Squirrel Saturday!!

Saturday was a fun-filled day! Since my shock broke on Friday I had to get it repaired since the weekend was gonna be so nice. Wesley gave me a set of stock shocks off his 77 sporty prior to the hardtail. Mounted the shocks and got a call that Brett was starting his 1958 Panhead. Ken, Neil, Kevin, Brett and Dwayne were working on the front end before getting it off the lift. The bike kicked right over without any adjustments.

Pootergirl stickers are popping up everywhere. Ken and Brett put them on their Panheads and Brett also has them hanging in the shop. We also found this baby squirrel and she is the new shop squirrel. Debbie is looking to rehab it. Kevin also helped me remove the seals on my old shocks to transfer over to the set Wesley gave me. Hit up the local Waffle House cause the leftovers were getting old. They gave Kevin these pins to add to his collection. I hope everyone enjoyed the time with family and friends and found something to be thankful for this week. Hope the rest of the weekend is safe and the week as well. Have a great one!

Thanksgiving was a great time! You would think I was cooking for an army. I cooked for 4 people.

Then after cooking and eating my dog and I relaxed on the couch while Kevin cleaned the kitchen.

The day after Thanksgiving 75 degrees. Perfect day for a beautiful ride on the motorcycle. Then the rear brake cable snaps. I am so lucky to have some great people to come and help. Wesley and Billy came by with a spare cable. Russ and Ray came by with some more tools. Kevin helped supervise the situation. I can't thank you guys enough for all the help. One day I will help repay you.

After getting the rear brake cable squared away it was on to the HD dealership in Raleigh. Halfway there I hit a pothole and snapped the rear shock. Thank you City of Raleigh. We bunged the shock back in place and rode to Tina's to park it. Then I had to ride the fender on Kevin's bike back home. I am just glad I had foot pegs this time. What a crazy busy day. I am thankful with the brake downs everything went well and safe. Again thank you guys I couldn't have done it without you.

At Ray Price I met Mark from VA. he has this beautiful 1974 Lowrider Shovelhead. Fantastic bike and I am glad to see that he puts miles on his ride.

POW/MIA/KIA Bucket

This weekend was a great weekend. I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Daniels, Randy and Wayne's Son. I actually got to take a ride in the POW/MIA Bucket. What a wonderful experience. What meant more than the ride was hearing Wayne's story on why this car is so special to him. He has sacrificed time money and energy to give back to all the service men and women that have sacrificed for us. He does this out of his own pocket and doesn't ask for anything in return. Next time you see the bucket drop a $20 to keep it rolling. It is for a cause much greater than you and I. Sunday Funday never had such a different meaning. My Sunday started off with prepping a roof for shingles for a really good friend-Tina. I was so glad when help from down the street arrived. I would like to thank Pete, Tim, Derrick, Kevin, and the other guy. We roofed, drank beer and my side turned out the best! I know I know I know Pete....Kevin snapped the line. When I Am Not Messing With Motorcycles.

So when i am not messing with motorcycles and I clean the grease from under my nails. I do some volunteering for the Marine Corp League. I have taken this year off to relax but will get back in the swing of things next year. I have helped raise money for the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Camp Lejuene, NC. We have a Marine Corps Ball every year to celebrate the Start of the Marine Corps. Here are a few pictures that I got. I am still waiting on more of them and will post more when I get them.

John Buchanan "Peter Pan"

Three years ago today we lost a wonderful young man. Lil John was a wonderful skateboarder who was taken from us too soon. He touched all of our lives and was an amazing man who was in a kids body. He was an amazing skateboarder and was killed doing what he loved to do. He was crossing the street on his board and was hit and killed by a car. I love you lil John and I miss you everyday. Here are a few pics.

Busy Weekend

This weekend was busy with lots of little things. We got to babysit our friends little boy Philip. He is learning to rock out on the drums. He must be watching Kevin. I have to tell them both to keep their tongues in their mouth. We went to the State Fair, ate tons of fatty foods, bought a 1963 truck for hunting and trash runs, went to the an antique store downtown, and the farmers market. Next weekend we are gonna plan to do some long rides. Does anyone have any ideas or places to ride?????

So The Department of Motor Vehicles would no longer allow to renew my Motorcycle permit so I had to finally get my motorcycle endorsement. I decided to take the Rider's Edge class give by our local Harley Dealership due to discounted insurance rates, and free motorcycle rental included in the cost. I had a great time in the class even though it took up all of my weekend. I got to meet some cool people and new friends to ride with.

This day is a somewhat bitter sweet day for me. Three years ago today Kevin and I were involved in a motorcycle accident and it forever changed both of us. Sometimes no matter how alert you are you will never see it coming. Be safe out there and remember it's not if it's when......I am so thankful that I still have you by my side I thought I lost you forever when that van dragged me down the road.

This weekend was filled with lots of fun! I got to see the progress on Brett's 1958 Panhead, Gator dressing up the gutbuster with a new tank and plenty of riding. We also got a lesson on body work from the master sensei Mr. Ken. Man that guy's super smart. Here are just a few pics from the weekend.

So my bike was running really shitty at the DS BBQ. I dropped the bowl on the carburetor, adjusted the points (with the help of the chopper whisper-Mr. Ken), made a new tab to hold my circuit breaker, and then changed out my primary plugs to some nice shiny ones. Ran amazing! It was great riding yesterday. Stay safe and enjoy the week.

This weeknd was Ray Days. A local HD dealership that has a festival downtown. I didn't get to really spend too much time at the event this year because I was babysitting for a friend. The OG crew had their bikes in the bikeshow. They all won trophies. Glad that someone sees their hardwork. Kevin wasn't able to put his bike in the bike show because he was helping out at the Marine Corps League booth selling raffle tickets for the 6.5 Grendal. At just 21 years old Dakota Meyer thought he was going to die. He rescued/provided cover for 36 Marines and Navy Corpsmen. Last week he was awarded the highest honor by the president. He was awarded the Medal of Honor. Most men that recieve this medal die in the process. I wish I could personally thank him for his service and dedication to his fellow Marines and Navy Corpsmen.

This is such an amazing collection of motorcycles. I could have walked around for a week and found new and interesting motorcycles. Dale and his son Matt are there and will start up any bike on display and offer you a cup of coffee. Dale also let me back in the shop and showed me the bike they were working on for the cannonball. It's a coast to coast race on a hundred plus year old motorcycles. Knuckle head motors everywhere. You have to see this museum before it closes in November. They are looking for a new location but no news on when or where so see it while you still can.

You can tell from the pictures there is tons to see.

Hurricane Irene tried to out shadow my surprise birthday party but she didn't do that. Kevin really suprised me this year. I had no clue what was going down. I can't thank everyone enough for coming out in the bad weather to wish me happy birthday. I have some great friends and family. One tip....Wine and moonshine don't mix so well together.

I am always trying to come up with a birthday present for Kevin that he doesn't have or can't guess. This year is the first year I have had success. I got him a starter for the FXR one year so I didn't have to pop start him anymore and he guessed it. They did an amazing job on the wallet and didn't expect it to be this good. 1942 GPW is sold. We had so much fun with this little Jeep. No brakes and riding full tilt around the yard was a blast. Kinda ironic that the local Jeep dealer is purchasing it to put on the roof. Doesn't he know it is actually a Ford? Oh well!

Trading Chips

So I never knew that some Harley dealers carry poker chips stamped with the dealer's name and location. Kevin has a friend Greg that her used to ride with in the Marine Corps that keeps in touch with him. Everytime he and his wife go to a new dealer they ask for these chips and mail two of them to us. It's kinda like a t-shirt swap but much cheaper on the pocketbook. I guess I never noticed that they had them. He also sent me this points cover that he had engraved off his 1978 sporty when he was in the service. Very nice gift and I am happy to have it. Thanks again Greg and Cindy!
