Belated Birthday Posting
Hurricane Irene tried to out shadow my surprise birthday party but she didn't do that. Kevin really suprised me this year. I had no clue what was going down. I can't thank everyone enough for coming out in the bad weather to wish me happy birthday. I have some great friends and family. One tip....Wine and moonshine don't mix so well together.
The first half of the night was at the Wine shoppe, Then to Gator's sugar shack of harley parts.
I am glad birthday's only come once a year.

Friday Bling
The bling is a little late this morning. Thanks to Mr. Ken for removing the snapping turtle before it removed one of my pups paw. WOW they hiss and jump! I can't thank you enough Ken.
Thanks for the bling for my bike Kevin! You are the best. Excited to try these on. It's hard to see but they match my bike. Purple for the Grape Ape!

Holliday Leather
I am always trying to come up with a birthday present for Kevin that he doesn't have or can't guess. This year is the first year I have had success. I got him a starter for the FXR one year so I didn't have to pop start him anymore and he guessed it. They did an amazing job on the wallet and didn't expect it to be this good. They do fantastic work at a very reasonable price. Check them out at Holliday Leather.

Internet is up
Yay!! Ok I feel so lost in the world without internet. I am back like a bad dream. Did some shooting last weekend. I had a blast literally. I got to tryout the .45 it's sweet. Check out the grouping and the bullet between the eyes. I killed the hostage...but she was a bitch anyway. Have a great Tuesday.

A Sad Day.
1942 GPW is sold. We had so much fun with this little Jeep. No brakes and riding full tilt around the yard was a blast. Kinda ironic that the local Jeep dealer is purchasing it to put on the roof. Doesn't he know it is actually a Ford? Oh well!

Trading Chips
So I never knew that some Harley dealers carry poker chips stamped with the dealer's name and location. Kevin has a friend Greg that her used to ride with in the Marine Corps that keeps in touch with him. Everytime he and his wife go to a new dealer they ask for these chips and mail two of them to us. It's kinda like a t-shirt swap but much cheaper on the pocketbook. I guess I never noticed that they had them. He also sent me this points cover that he had engraved off his 1978 sporty when he was in the service. Very nice gift and I am happy to have it. Thanks again Greg and Cindy!

Clutch Cable Replacement
So here we go...again. Thursday went to the HD dealer in Durham since they had my clutch cable in stock. Got there and asked the kid "You sure this is correct it looks too short?" He answers "Yah it's right" This morning get the bike in the shop, the radio going, coffee in hand, and start tearing the bike down.
Pull the primary off, broken cable out and NO FREAKIN WAY!!! Dial the HD in Durham and after complaining about how I told them it didn't look correct they tell me they found the correct cable. So yet another drive to Durham. Approx: 50 miles round trip cause someone was slack...myself. I knew I should have measured things cause more than likely you will get the incorrect parts if you aren't following up on them. Parts get mislabeled blah blah blah. Anyhow with the correct cable in hand. I can get things reassembled.
So frustrating day: Motto for the day measure twice cut once. Always trust your gut.

Tuesday's Ice Cream Run
This week was a very long one. Tuesday I got home told Kevin I wanted to go for a ride and get some ice cream. 100 yards from the house my clutch cable snaps. I push the bike back to the house as Kevin pulls back in the driveway. He tells me he will start the car......I said Nah! I will ride with you on the rigid. I switched from wrapping my legs around him to resting them on the frame since he doesn't have any pegs and so he can shift since its a jokey shift. Ice cream was great! Ride was even better. Spending time with Kevin---priceless.
After riding I realized that the chain made the frame slippery and my boot suffered the wrath. Oh well battle scars! haha. It was worth it. Now to tear apart the sporty and get my clutch cable replaced. That design sucks.
